10/18/14: Chicago Blackhawks 2 Nashville Predators 1 (OT)

1st Blackhawks Goal (Oduya), Even

  • Chicago Contributions
    N. Hjalmarsson – gets a loose puck at the right-side boards in the neutral zone and passes it across the ice to Oduya skating towards the Predators zone
    J. Oduya – carries the puck to the top of the left faceoff circle and fires a slapshot that goes directly through Hutton’s five-hole
  • Nashville Faults
    C. Hutton – opens up a gap in his pads despite Oduya shooting the puck directly at him, leading to a goal through his five-hole

1st Predators Goal (Weber), Powerplay

  • Nashville Contributions
    R. Josi – skates the puck through the neutral zone, crosses into the Blackhawks zone, and pulls up at the right point, then passes the puck to Weber at the middle of the blue line
    S. Weber – keeps the puck moving to the left-side boards for Neal (cont.), gets the puck from Ribeiro and fires a slapshot that glances off of Keith’s skate and goes over Crawford’s left shoulder
    J. Neal – moves the puck down the boards to Wilson behind the net
    C. Wilson – passes the puck to Ribeiro in the right corner of the zone
    M. Ribeiro – settles the puck down and passes it to Weber above the left faceoff circle
  • Chicago Faults
    A. Shaw – just left the penalty box and wasn’t back in the play yet
    N. Hjalmarsson – in the penalty box for tripping
    D. Keith – gets his skate on Weber’s shot, deflecting it past Crawford

2nd Blackhawks Goal (Toews), Shorthanded

  • Chicago Contributions
    J. Toews – poke checks the puck away from Josi at the Blackhawks blue line and then carries the puck to the Predators zone on a breakaway, where he takes a wrist shot that Hutton stops, then taps the rebound through Hutton’s legs1
  • Nashville Faults
    R. Josi – loses the puck to Toews at the Blackhawks blue line, allowing a breakaway
