    P. Maroon – holds the puck on his backhand and then passes it to Perry moving into the slot
    C. Perry – shifts the puck to the right to change his shooting angle and then fires a wrist shot past Neuvirth’s blocker
  • Buffalo Faults
    A. Meszaros – in the penalty box for boarding
    B. Flynn – tries to chip the puck past Vatanen along the boards and skates past him without succeeding or taking the body, leaving the Sabres with only three men in the play

2nd Ducks Goal (Karlsson), Even

    H. Lindholm – pinches down to the outside edge of the left faceoff circle to get a loose puck after a missed shot, takes the puck to the corner, and then passes it to Karlsson in the slot
    W. Karlsson – can’t handle the pass, but settles the puck down and then fires a shot past Neuvirth’s glove
  • Buffalo Faults
    J. Gorges – stands in front of Neuvirth instead of challenging Karlsson and doesn’t block the shot, so Neuvirth never sees the shot coming

3rd Ducks Goal (Beleskey), Even

  • Anaheim Contributions
    B. Lovejoy – smacks a dump-in by the Sabres back into the neutral zone for Cogliano (cont.), gets the puck from Getzlaf, carries it down below the right faceoff dot, and pushes it towards the net
    A. Cogliano – gets the puck in the neutral zone and passes it across the ice to Getzlaf
    R. Getzlaf – carries the puck into the left side of the Sabres zone and pulls up at the left point before passing the puck to Lovejoy at the right point
    M. Beleskey – redirects the puck from the front of the crease through Neuvirth’s legs despite being tied up
  • Buffalo Faults
    N. Delauriers – loses his positioning on Lovejoy when he gets the puck, cutting too far to the inside, which allows Lovejoy to skate to the outside past him down to the right faceoff dot to get the puck on net

4th Ducks Goal (Karlsson), Even

  • Anaheim Contributions
    C. Fowler – throws the puck to the middle of the ice from his defensive zone for an intended dump-in
    W. Karlsson – tips the puck at center to negate icing and sends the puck behind the net (cont.), follows up the play and shoots the loose puck in the crease on Neuvirth, who produces a rebound which Karlsson bats out of the air into the net
    J. Silfverberg – gets tied up with Weber as they skate to the puck next to the net, which causes them to hit the puck off of the side of the net and into the crease in front
  • Buffalo Faults
    M. Neuvirth – has a chance to cover the loose puck when it’s next to the net and sitting in the crease in front of him, but doesn’t react or make a move to do anything, allowing Karlsson to get his chances

1st Sabres Goal (Ennis), Even

  • Buffalo Contributions
    T. Ennis – gets to a loose puck along the left-side boards in the Ducks zone and throws it around the boards (cont.), one-times Moulson’s pass short-side past Andersen before he even knows the puck was passed in front
    D. Stafford – gets to the puck next to the right faceoff circle and throws it behind the net
    M. Moulson – gets the puck behind the net and then makes a backhand pass to Ennis just above the goal line to the left of the net
  • Anaheim Faults
    S. Vatanen – realizes that Ennis is skating to the net a second too late and can’t get his stick on the pass from Moulson or stop Ennis

5th Ducks Goal (Kesler), Penalty Shot (Even)

  • Anaheim Contributions
    R. Kesler – skates into the slot, pulls the puck back for a split-second, and fires a wrist shot through Neuvirth’s five-hole
  • Buffalo Faults
    A. Benoit – loses his coverage of Kesler on the play and dives to take him down on a breakaway, leading to the penalty shot
