1st Wild Goal (Pominville), Even

  • Minnesota Contributions
    R. Suter – gets the puck in the corner of his defensive zone and makes a pass across the ice to Granlund at the right side boards in the neutral zone
    M. Granlund – carries the puck into the zone on a 2-on-1 with Parise to his left, then takes a wrist shot that Varlamov saves, with the rebound coming right back out in the slot
    Z. Parise – skates by the crease for the rebound, drawing Johnson with him and leaving an open lane for Pominville behind him
    J. Pominville – trails the play and shoots the rebound from the slot into a wide open net
  • Avalanche Faults
    B. Stuart – gets caught in the neutral zone as Granlund receives the pass, leading to the 2-on-1
    D. Briere – starts skating back through the neutral zone with Pominville and then quits, just gliding as Pominville freely moves to the offensive zone

2nd Wild Goal (Spurgeon), Even

  • Minnesota Contributions
    M. Granlund – pokes the puck away from O’Reilly and further down the left side boards to Pominville in the offensive zone
    J. Pominville – keeps the puck moving down to Parise at the lower outside edge of the left faceoff circle
    Z. Parise – corrals the puck and sees a 2-on-1 opportunity with Spurgeon skating in from the right point, then passes the puck to Spurgeon at the top of the crease
    J. Spurgeon – quickly shoots the puck past Varlamov’s glove before he can go post-to-post
  • Avalanche Faults
    R. O’Reilly – loses a puck along the boards in the defensive zone
    A. Tanguay – loses track of Spurgeon skating in from the right point
    T. Barrie – stays too high in the slot when Parise has the puck in the corner, allowing Parise to move deeper and find a wide open passing lane in front of the net to Spurgeon

3rd Wild Goal (Parise), Even

  • Minnesota Contributions
    M. Granlund – wins a neutral zone faceoff forward into the Avalanche zone
    Z. Parise – skates forward into the Avalanche zone to pick up the puck and takes a wrist shot on net, then beats Hejda to the rebound to get another shot, and then is past Hejda to grab another rebound, which he slides past Varlamov’s left pad
  • Avalanche Faults
    J. Hejda – doesn’t stay square to Parise so he gets beat to the first rebound and has lost Parise completely for the second rebound

4th Wild Goal (Niederreiter), Even

  • Minnesota Contributions
    N. Niederreiter – gets to a loose puck near the net, battles through Guenin trying to tie up his stick, and chips the puck off of Varlamov’s stick and over him into the net
  • Avalanche Faults
    N. Guenin – misplays the puck in the corner of the defensive zone so it bounces off of the boards and towards the left side of the net, then can’t keep Niederreiter off of the puck as he chips it in past Varlamov

5th Wild Goal (Suter), Even

  • Minnesota Contributions
    J. Brodin – stops Cliche’s clearing attempt and passes the puck down the right boards to Coyle behind the net
    C. Coyle – fends off a hit by Talbot to get the puck further behind the net for Parise
    Z. Parise – picks up the puck behind the net, skates it to the left corner of the zone, and backhands a pass for Suter
    R. Suter – steps in from the left point to take a one-timer from the top of the left faceoff circle that beats Varlamov over his right shoulder
  • Avalanche Faults
    M. Cliche – takes an awkward swipe at a loose puck in the defensive zone and knocks it to Brodin at the right point
    J. McGinn – fails to cover the left point as Parise is carrying the puck despite Cliche even pointing for him to do so
